The Next Phase: Re-Entry

Updated: Jan 7, 2021

The mission of the Coronavirus is to...

  • Care for people and grow in our appreciation for ALL humans.

  • Create balance, bring interconnectedness to the world; filter through the internal and external baggage; an opportunity for global awareness and collective thought.

  • Re-balance planet Earth.

  • Go back into ourselves; true healing.

  • Expose and clear wounds; lean into science and magic of energy to make real, positive change together.

  • Encourage a paradigm shift and leveling of how we build community, how we think of our space and time, and change the way we use technology; a chance to look into ourselves and how we can contribute; space and stillness to reorganize those values.

A group of coaches were asked to complete the above statement and these were a few of our responses.

What would you add? What is the mission of the Coronavirus to you?

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the next phase for the world: the re-entry process. As many states loosen restrictions, lifting the stay-at-home order, allowing for individuals to re-enter into the world, people are feeling a range of emotions: excitement, fear, joy anxiety, and uncertainty. Two months ago, May felt like hope, hope for more understanding and new directions. However, here we are, in May, and the emotions are starting to become more intensified: WHEN will we be able to see AND hug our family and friends? WHEN will we be able to host dinner parties to celebrate being with those we love? WHEN will we be able to live our lives again?

While there is this need and pull to get back to “normal”, back to living the life we once had, to have the freedom to live, there is also some anxiety sweeping over humanity. There has been some comfort in these past two months, life has slowed down with less running around and being “busy” and more time spent enjoying family or the more simpler things of everyday life. We have found comfort in staying home. And through it all, people are yearning for someone to have the answers, to know what is the"right" thing to do and feel and honestly, I'm not sure if there is a only one right answer. So, then what? What do we do? How do we keep moving forward? We trust. So I challenge us, how can we look at the world with a new perspective and instill more trust during this time?

Reflection prompts:

  1. What is in your control right now?

  2. What emotions are surfacing for you? What are they linked to?

  3. What will re-entry look like for the world?

  4. How will our relationships, communities, and contribution change?

  5. How do you want your re-entry to look? How do you want it to feel?

  6. What have you taken from this experience that you want to take with you moving forward?

  7. What do you want to leave behind?

  8. What do you want to make happen?

Thinking about the re-entry can cause a mix sense of emotions, especially since there is still so much unknown and uncertainty of what does come next. While there isn't much in our control, we can control our perspective and behaviors. Each day of the stay-at-home order, I have kept a daily journal through the Day One Journal app to track everyday life: thoughts, emotions, experiences, photos; mainly, to remember all of the good and growth that occurred during this time. I am tagging the entries #kennellyyearoftrust2020.

On Day 21, I wrote my Love List, a list of things that bring me a sense of calm, ease, and joy; those things that make your heart skip a beat and bring a smile to your face.

My Love List:

"Trust is key as life shifts in big ways. Questions might seem unanswerable, the future unknown, but you're in the perfect place. Even if you have the perception that you are in control, you're not. Grace surrounds the situation and steers the wheel."

  1. What’s on your love list?

  2. What can you do to make today beautiful?

  3. What did you learn about yourself this week?

  4. Share a photo below that brings you joy!

Your love list made me smile and, of course, so did your downward dog picture with those BEAUTIFUL clouds!

What did you learn about yourself this week?

Something you tell me often is that emotions are a wave and you have to ride it. I feel like I relearn this every couple of weeks. For example, yesterday I woke up with low energy and very sleepy. It was hard to shake that feeling all day. Then today I had a dance party in my apartment all by myself! Emotions truly are such a wave and it a wonderful reminder to feel the lows so that the highs feel even more electric.

I'm going to now go daydream about outdoor concerts…

Your writing calms me and makes me think outside of my “knee-jerk” emotional thoughts about this whole situation. Thank you for sharing and for being such a positive guidance.
